Desi Girl Cow:
Girl cows are a native breed of Gujarat, famous for being one of the highest milking breeds of India. Today they have become one of the most bred cows across India due to their high accommodative traits. Even the Royal families of Gujarat have been involved in preserving this breed.
The relationship between cows and humans has been a natural bond since historic times. While traveling in the interiors we met the traditional cowherd/pastoral communities also called as Maldhari community who have been rearing and protecting Girl cows for hundreds of years with the best of care and sustainable processes. For them, the cow isn’t a commodity, rather a community member.
Milk:
Cowherd community members practice age-old methods of cow keeping; hand milking, untied open grazing, natural mating, cruelty-free care and celebrate festivals to glorify the presence of cows in our lives. Across the Saurashtra belt and the interiors of Girl forest, the free-range Girl Cows feed on grass pastures, seasonal grasses and herbs that is medicinally beneficial and therapeutically potent in nature. Being in the purest form of nature, the milk of such hand milked Girl cows are highest in nutrition and 100 percent pure. That’s what Kudej brings to you.
Ghee Preparation:
The ghee is prepared in the traditional fermentation process. Cows are hand milked. The milk is converted to curd. This curd is churned to extract fermented butter which is then heated to get highly aromatic and divine ghee. Such curd cultured ghee prevents from cholesterol and fat build-up in the body and helps provide good bacteria to the gut. Kudej ghee is the best of native superfoods.
