The scarf is named Laha after one of our favorite natural dye ingredients, Lac. It is a positive color inspiring warm and comforting feelings, a sense that everything will be okay.
What is it made of?
The shawl is handwoven using our soft Eri Silk fine handspun and mill spun yarn, making the fall of the fabric drapes well when worn.
What makes the Eri Silk scarf Special?
Eri Silk, being hydrophilic, has high absorbency and breathable, making it comfortable to wear during warm weather.
At the same time, its low conductivity keeps warm air close to the skin during cold weather, making the fabric warm to wear in Winter.
So, all in all, Eri Silk is a fabric you can wear all season.
The durability of Eri Silk is what makes Eri Silk a Timeless Silk and surpasses time which is why it is passed down for generations as an Heirloom fabric.
This scarf is hand-dyed with Lac. Now lac is not a plant, it's actually an insect that grows on tree branches around on fig or acacia trees. It's a deep red pigment that has been used in natural dyeing for many hundreds of years and produced the most gorgeous palette of pinks to deep mauves.⁠⁠
