The beginning of Artisanté stretches all the way back to 1998, when Raj Madnani pioneered the iconic Java City Café in at that time sleepy and idyllic Lavelle Road, Bangalore. Java City was one of the first coffee shop chains in the country and paved the way for today’s coffee and Café culture. Twenty years later, Bangaloreans have fond memories of Java City, not to mention the scores of married couples whose romances flourished around coffee and desserts in the café.
