With so many things, so many thoughts running through your minds (sometimes even when you are asleep), it is crucial that you are aware of your inner self and practice mindfulness wherever possible. People find themselves lost in thoughts from career to relationships or just a general concern about the future (thanks to the uncertainties around the pandemic). So much so that they don't even realise what day it is sometimes!
While it is impossible to ignore worrying about the future completely (let's be real here), the key is to strike a balance. How much you want to let the future uncertainties cripple your present is completely up to you. It is very easy to get caught up in the negatives and be stuck in a whirlwind of emotions. (In fact, there's something comfortably numb about it), however, constant worry can put your mind in a very bad state and can steal your chances of having a good, stress-free life!
In this blog, we'll discuss why mindful living is all everyone seems to talk about and why we think it's worth your effort. And to call out to Gen Z, we have 7 of the most popular (and fun) podcasts that you should listen to! Happy reading!
Mindfulness 101: Why Jump the Mindful Living Wagon?
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you read the words 'mindful living'? Is it that of a yogi meditating? Well, you aren't alone! Mindfulness is often linked to yogic practices and, traditionally, doesn't hold much relevance in modern times. But, when you understand the true meaning of living mindfully, you'd be surprised to see how far the thought is from reality!
In its true essence, mindfulness is simply training your mind to focus on the present, no matter what task you are doing. So, it doesn't matter if you are dining at a Michelin 5 star restaurant, picking up milk, or watching your favourite show on Netflix, as long as your mind is on the task and you are consciously aware of your thoughts and surroundings, you are living life mindfully.
